Stuart McGoo (Talk To Stu)

Hi, I'm Stuart McGoo I am a trained counsellor and information and advice officer with over 10 years experience in supporting and advocating for clients.

I am a trained Welfare and Benefits Officer with many, many successful applications and appeals for disability benefits under my belt.

I have worked at Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire as an Information and Advice Officer, Wellcheck Officer and Dementia Advisor.

I have also worked for Victim Support as a Support officer. I currently also work part-time at Sight Concern Worcestershire as the Communications and Data Officer.

My Approach

I have supported people from all walks of life with a variety of different problems and issues.

My work is Person Centered, meaning that I respond to your needs and you are in the driving seat.

My intention for the work we do together is not only to provide support but to raise you to a place where you may be able to support yourself in the future.

I have been described by my colleagues and clients as having a “dog with a bone” commitment to my clients and their cases. I go the extra mile, and then another.

My Personality

Both in and outside of my work I endeavor to be a kind and compassionate person.

I pride myself of on being empathetic and supportive with all people. I am a vegetarian,
passionate about animal rights and I am always seeking to improve myself and reduce my
environmental impact on the world.

I am a keen musician and DJ with a regular podcast that promotes local musicians, bands and producers.

I am disabled myself having been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which effects everything I do so I have a unique understanding of the difficulties disabled and vulnerable people have to face, as I face a lot of them myself.
